I'm in the Closet.

Words that will never spew from my mouth again:

"I'M GOING TO PAINT THAT CLOSET!"

Stupid girl.

Its exhausting! It looks easy, but trust me, its a giant pain in the ass! I've been painting the front entry way coat closet. The doors are out in the garage drying. In the meantime, I'm getting my ass kicked by the INSIDE of the closet.

I don't ever want to do this again. I must say though, I believe firmly that high gloss white paint could make a turd seem very shabby chic. I love high gloss white paint. It makes everything better.

Still on a KU high. Bill. Call Me. We'll Do Lunch.

I love this guy. I may have to put him on my list of celebs to stalk. (Especially since I had to remove Kip Winger. He's kinda let himself go recently.)

I actually got to visit with my Self (c'mon, thats just funny.) for a moment a few years ago at a KU Basketball Clinic (they do it every year for Kansas Special Olympics) he was so sweet - he and the team kept trying to leave, but the athletes went nuts for autographs and they stayed for what seemed an eternity and hung out and signed stuff.

Well, its Friday. Its actually my Wednesday, so I don't get too excited, but it still feels like Friday. I think I may need to get my drink on.

I'm getting tired of the gray weather. I need some sun, pronto.

Tomorrow evening after work, I think we might slip out east to the Red Robin - there's a Special Olympics fundraiser going on out there from noon to 8 p.m. - "Tip a Cop" - its a Law Enforcement Torch Run thing - better show my support, my brother-in-law is the lucky athlete that gets to stand out there and greet people this time - they raise a lot of money for Special Olympics. And, little known fact, the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics started right here in Wichita, KS. Now its national thing.

Okay - must to go find some adult beverages. Woohoo!!

My Buddies in Lawrence . . .

Larry, Sherry & Danny. Three of my very favorite people. It was a hot time in the old town last night! It would have been cool to be there with them as the Jayhawks became National Champions. Looks like it was a little wet there, but I bet no one was complaining. Oh, look. Danny's got a beer. Big suprise!

I miss these guys. They're so much fun and just about the kindest, most giving friends on the planet! This photo is a good example of the only thing I miss about living up near KC . . . our friends in Lawrence!

I cannot believe my luck lately!!! First, WSU Womens' Basketball Coach, Jane Albright gets canned. FABULOUS!

NOW.....their dirtbag Athletic Director is leaving for Ohio!

I'm telling you......next great miracle has got to be Miller Light flowing from my kitchen sink!

Stuff just keeps getting better and better !!!!

Futon Soup and the Jayhawks.

Last night after work, Jimbo, Riley the Super Chihuahua and myself took in the KU game. We're quite pleased with the outcome! Wassa matta, Roy? Why the long face?! HAAAAAhahaha. Good game.

Then we slipped down to the Crazy Horse Supper Club to see our friend, Derek Tucker, perform with one of several bands he plays bass for, FUTON SOUP. Derek is the one on the right, in the red shirt. He's actually very talented. We enjoy his gigs. He may not look it, but oddly, Derek is quite the chick magnet - must be a musician thing.

Now, I have no idea where they got that band name, but these guys were a hoot. They do covers, and man, they sounded great. They played everything from The Cars, to Depeche Mode, and even Smash Mouth.

Mamma had some seven & seven's and chilled out. It was a good evening all the way around!

The Electrical Box Anomoly.

Okay, something funky's goin' on.

On 3 separate occassions, the electircal box at home, which does not open easily, has just poppped open. Okay, weird fluke, no big deal.

So late this afternoon at work, (and I have witnesses - a few of the men in my department checked it out for me) the electrical box directly behind my work area, just flew open, with absolutely no cause in sight, and made a hell of a racket.

Very odd.

In retropsect, I thought maybe the times at home were a sign of some sort, as a few weeks ago we had an electrical short, resulting in a hallway light blowing up, shooting fire and sparks, and all around scaring the crap out of me & Riley the Super Chihuahua.

Freaky stuff man, freaky stuff. If the damn house burns down, I guess I can't say I wasn't warned!

Foolishness.

On this April Fool's Day, I spent my morning watching old movies on TCM. Today's theme: movies with the word "Fool" in them, apparently. Clever! Its a good way to spend a cold April morning. Me, some coffee, the dog & a blanket!

"You Can't Fool Your Wife" was one of the flicks I watched. Starring Lucille Ball. A very YOUNG Lucy, for sure. Cute flick.

I do love the old movies. I firmly believe I was born in the wrong time period! Ah, the flicks of the 1930's . . .the women were flawless ladies with perfect lipstick and lovely hair, the men were gentlemen, and everyone made smoking look glamourous. And the HATS! My goodness, the hats! Even the crappy movies are tolerable with fabulous hats!
